1944, Irwin Shindler sold the family farm they owned Davisburg, MI. 1945, the family opened a small butcher shop in NY city. 1956, his son, Philip Shindler, opened a meat processing plant called “House of Shindler” on Washington Ave, Brooklyn NY.
